mytraining is Nick's take on keeping a Swimming
Log – one of the real keys to sporting success.
Nick Gillingham’s Olympic success was planned over many
years and programme planning was written in a log book to ensure
the analytical stage of review and progression can take place.
Every season (macro cycle) was broken down into a specific pattern
of weeks (micro cycle) with each day having specific tasks with
written performance goals.
To define the log book theory the below captures the essence...
A performance measurement framework geared to the
production of required evidence to articulate the necessary
arguments for improvement so that all activities (stress factors)
contribute to a wide performance in order to achieve personal
success, at the same time, demonstrate the ability to measure
and benchmark against other developed programmes.
“The above process allowed me to personally share written
information to develop myself and the team resulting in greater
team success and ever developing your team of individuals”.
